Sarah Houghton-Jan is the author of Librarian In Black, an award-winning blog about libraries and technology. Sarah's day job is working as the Digital Futures Manager for the San José Public Library in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Sarah is a prolific trainer, speaker, and writer with a focus on user-centered services and technology. Sarah received her MLIS from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and a MA in Irish Literature from Washington State University. Sarah was named a 2009 Library Journal Mover & Shaker as a Trendspotter. Sarah likes to push the boundaries--and sometimes they like to push back.
